CLEAR SAW TRAINING PROGRAM: MODULE 1

INTRODUCTION TO CLEARING SAWS AND PERSONAL SAFETY GEAR OBJECTIVES:

This module is designed to introduce the clearing saw, its component parts and their functions, to the beautification worker. Also discussed is the need, design and function of the personal protective equipment required while operating this saw. Inherent to this discussion, is the need to train knowledgeable, safe, responsible workers.

Personal Protective Equipment

• hard hat, ear & eye protection
• safety pants
• safety boots
• safety gloves
• pressure bandage

Work Ethic

• safe and productive work attitude
• occupational health and safety act
• workmans compensation

STUDENT PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:

The student must list and discuss the function of each of the component parts. Each student must also discuss the purpose of the safety gear, including a clear diferentiation between accidents and injuries. Finally, the student must discuss the need for workers to possess safe and productive working skills, habits and a conscientious attitude.
