The Irving Eco-Centre, La Dune de Bouctouche was created to increase the general understanding of the dune as a ecological habitat..Visitors to the Dunes in May - November will be welcomed by interpertors who explain the important purpose of the Irving Eco-Centre as a contributor to the scientific knowledge of dune ecosystems along the north Atlantic coast. The data that is collected regularly is assessed by the Eco-Centre's staff for various research projects being carried out by the Université de Moncton.
